PATOO-3D, version 0.9 (Dec 27, 2003). First public release.

1.- What is this?

PATOO-3D is a 3D extension of PATOO (Program for the Application of
Translations and Other Operators). This program implements an ensemble
of 3D geometric operators on an ensemble of simple pictures, thus
achieving images of great complexity.

2.- How to install.

Easy. Just try "make". It works fine for under Debian Woody, and it
should work equally well for other Linuxes. You just need the g++
compiler, the X11 development package and bison.

[Old PATOO had an MS-DOS version, since I used it with my students and
the Spanish educational administration was quite blind at the time.
Nowadays all computers within Madrid local government are dual (Windows
+ Linux) and I have forsaken Mr. Gates' version (hallellujah).]

If you have problems with compilation, feel free to contact me.

3.- The "make" has worked. What can I do now?

I'm working in a full fledged documentation for this, but for the
moment the best idea is to run the examples and observe them. Try

patoo3d + any of the ".op" files

You should have, at least, the "sierp.op" file. This is the PATOO-3D
description of the 3D Sierpinski gasket with 3 levels.
Run "patoo3d sierp.op" and use the keys "n", "m", "0" and "9". There are
more command keys, described in the "Keys" file, but those are OK for
a first try.

There should be also in the distribution "espiral.op", "espiral2.op" and
"mandala.op". Have a try.

Experiment and feel free to ask anything your heart might desire!
